The animation is largely 2D graphics as well which is a wonderful change of pace if you’ve played a lot of 3d games. I did find a good workaround and hope this helps other people as flickering was driving me nutsīasically disabled full screen mode and set display resolution in game to 1920x1200 (this way you will not see title bar above and it will look exactly like full screen with 1080p). I'm using a GTX 1070 with a 1080p display. I tried above fix with profileinspector but that did not fix flickering during conversations.
